Abstract

This research has been carried out as descriptively to investigate the aim of determining mental problems and affecting factors of the nursing students in Erzincan Universty Health Higher School. The context of the research consists of 180 students, however as 30 students couldn't be reached due to various reasons, the study has been conducted with 150 students. The data of research were gathered between 2-6 May 2005 by using an information document including descriptive feature of the students and Symptom Check List (SCL-90-R) which proved validity and reliability by Dağ and developed by Derogatis et at In the analysis of the data, percentage, t test, Pearson Correlation, Mann-Whitney Utest,Kruscal Wallis and variance analysis were used. The level of mental demonstration (GSI) of the students was found on the verge. The relationship between the age, sibling number, state of sharing the problems of the students and having a chronic disease with SCL-90-R was significant.
