Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, topikal flor uygulama -larının farklı içeriklerdeki cam iyonomer esaslı fissürörtücü materyallerin mikrosertlikleri üzerine olanetkilerinin incelenmesidir.Metot: Çalışmada farklı içeriklere sahip cam iyonomeresaslı 3 adet fissür örtücü materyal kullanıldı (FujiTriage, GCP Glass Seal, Fuji VII EP). Üretici firmalarıntalimatları doğrultusunda disk şeklinde ha zırlanan 72adet örnek (8.0x2.5 mm), ışık tabancası (Valo,Ultradent Products Inc, South Jordan, UT, USA) ilepolimerize edildi, 24 saat 37ºCde, deiyonize suiçerisinde bekletildikten sonra başlangıç mikrosertlikölçümleri Vickers mikrosertlik test cihazı (ShimadzuMicro Hardness Tester HMV-2, Shimadzu Corporation,Kyoto, Japan) ile gerçekleştirildi.

Abstract

Aim : The aim of this study was to assess the effect oftopical fluoride applications on the surfacemicrohardness of different glass ionomer based fissuresealants.Method: In this study different glass ionomer basedfissure sealants were used (Fuji Triage, GCP GlassSeal, Fuji VII EP). 72 disc shaped specimens (8.0x2.5mm) which were prepared according tomanufacturer s instructions were photopolimerizedwith light source (Valo, Ultradent Products Inc, SouthJordan, UT, USA), after stored in distilled water at37°C for 24 hour initial microhardness measurementswere performed with Vicker s m icrohardness tester(Shimadzu Micro Hardness Tester HMV-2, ShimadzuCorporation, Kyoto, Japan). Specimens were randomlyassigned to 2 experimental groups according tosurface treatment regimens consisting of 2% NaF gel(Sultan Topex neutral pH gel, Sultan Dental Products,USA) and 1.23%APF gel (Sultan Topex APF gel, SultanDental Products, USA) and these groups wereassigned to 3 experimental subgroups according toapplication types (1 minute gel application, 4 minutegel application, 4x4 minute gel applica tion). Afterapplications; specimens were rinsed with distilledwater and microhardness measurements wererepeated. Statistical analysis were made with repeatedmeasures ANOVA and Bonferroni correction (=0.05).Result: It has been found that the types of appliedagents, time of application and repeated applicationsreduce the hardness values of fissure sealant material, but the difference was not statistically significant ( p >0.05).Conclusion: Microhardness values of the differentcontent fissure sealant s used in the study were foundnot to be affected by topical fluoride applications.
