Sadece 7 olguda ikiden fazla epidural hematom tespit edildi. İki olgu dışında tüm olgularda cerrahi tedavinin uygulandığı görüldü. TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: İntrakraniyal epidural hematomlar genellikle kafa travmasına sekonder gelişirler ve tek taraflı oluşurlar. Çokluepidural hematomlar oldukça nadir olgulardır ve prognozları genellikle operasyon öncesi nörolojik durum ile bağlantılıdır.
Abstract
INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study was to review and discuss the clinical properties of multiple epidural hematomas in light of the literature. METHODS: In this study, we pooled cases with multipl epidural hematomas that were published in the medical literature and added an unpublished case from our institution. RESULTS: Fifty published articles which are providing our criteria was found in our literature review. While thirty-eight of them were single case reports, twelwe were multipl cases and clinical series. Most of cases have bilateral hematomas. More than two epidural hematomas were found in only 7 cases. Except two cases, surgical treatment was used in all patients. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Intracranial epidural hematomas are generally secondary to head traumas and occur unilaterally. Multiple epidural hematomas are very rare condition and prognosis is mainly dependent of the preoperative neurological state.
