Özet

İzmir, Dikili llçesi'nde yer alan Atarneus antik kentinin nekropolünde saptanmıştır. 2000 yılında yapılan kaçak kazılarla, yaklaşık 6-7 m yüksekliğe sahip tümülüs büyük ölçüde tahrip edilerek soyulmuştur. Krepisli yığma toprak tümülüsün hemen hemen merkezinde, tekne ve kapaktan oluşan kireç taşından bir lahit bulunmuştur. Özensiz basit lahitin kısa kenarı kırılarak gömü hediyeleri alınmıştır. Ancak jandarma tarafından tümülüs içinde bulunan bir unguentarium, 15 adet pişmiş toprak boncuk, definecilerden alıkonulmuştur. Dikili Armuttepe Tümülüsü, kentin önemli bir kadını için yapılmış, bölgenin karakterestik özelliklerini taşıyan bir mezar olup, Erken Hellenistik Döneme aittir.

Abstract

Armuttepe Tumulus which is situated at the Dikili district in Turkey's Izmir province, was established in the southeastern necropolis of the ancient city Atarneus. During the illicit digging in 2000, approximately 6-7 m tall tumulus was destroyed by the smugglers. A free-standing limestone Sarcophagus has been found in the tumulus. The Sarcophagus is situated almost in the center of the pile earth tumulus. The short edge of the plain Sarcophagus has been broken; moreover, the burial gifts were smuggled by the illicit diggers. The gendarme have prevented the smuggling from the the illict diggers and they have found an unguentarium in the tumulus. Furthermore, fifteen pieces of baked-clay were also found by the gendarme. The Dikili Armuttepe Tumulus which prossesses a grave with the characteristics of the region, was made for an important woman in the area, the grave dates back to early Hellenistic times.
