Özet

Zonguldak İlinin 30 km kuzeydoğusunda, Çaycuma İlçesinin 21 km kuzeyinde, Filyos sınırlarındaki Tios Antik Kentinin akropolünde yer alan Kilise A yapısı1, parekklesion ve ek mekanlarında yürütülen 2008-2014 kazıları, çalışmanın konusunu oluşturmaktadır2. Kilise alanı ve çevresinde gerçekleştirilen yüzey araştırmaları ve kazı çalışmalarında yapının plan tipi, inşa malzemesi ve tekniği ile ek mekanlarına ait 2006-2014 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilen arkeolojik incelemeler doğrultusunda üç evre saptanmıştır. Birinci evre yapısı, 9-10. yüzyıllara tarihlendirilen, doğu batı doğrultusunda tek nefli bazilikal planlı kilisedir. İkinci evre yapısı, 10-12. yüzyıllara tarihlendirilen tek nefli bazilikal planlı kilisedir ve bu dönemde yapının güneyine, doğu-batı doğrultusunda dikdörtgen planlı bir parekklesion eklenmiştir. 12-14. yüzyıl arasına tarihlendirilen üçüncü evrede ise kilisenin güneyine iki ve güneydoğusuna bir olmak üzere üç ek mekan ilave edilmiştir.

Abstract

The Church A Buildings which are in Tios Archaic City, in the boundary of Filyos township Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, have a very important part in the development of architecture in West Black Sea Region. In surface studies and diggings performed for church and surroundings between the years 2008- 2012, 3 stages were determined in accordance with the archeological inspections of 2006-2014 belonging to the plan type, construction material and technique. The first period structure is the single naved basilar planned church in east-west direction, dating between 9-10th centuries. The second period structure is the single naved basilar planned church and a rectangular planned parraclesion was added to the south of east-west direction in this period dating 10-12th centuries. In the third period which is dating between 12-14th centuries, two to the south, and one to the southeast, in total three, additional places were added to the church. During digging in church and surroundings, architectural plastic works, small antiques and in-situ wall paintings were found from between 9-14 centuries.
