Abstract

The study aims to make a short evaluation of the architectural features and construction phases of the three Roman baths, which were built in different points of Metropolis between 1-3 A.D. and served people from every stage of life, with the help of the current archaeological data, along with the contributions it made by adding up to the information known about the civic life. In this study, the importance of the public baths in the civic life of the Roman Era in terms of them being activity grounds and architectural tradition will rather be emphasized, since it is hard to present all three structures in one text and comparatively in detail in terms of the plan, materials and construction technique. A summary of the site and function analyses of Roman public baths, specifically the ones in Metropolis city, will be presented and some descriptions and suggestions about the activities of the people of Metropolis or the visitors of the public baths will be given
