Abstract
In 1913, Richard Joshua “RJ” Reynolds, founder of the company that still carries his name, inventedthe packaged cigarette. Reynolds worked to develop a more appealing flavor and created his cigarette, which he called the Camel because of using Turkish tobacco, imitating the then-fashionableEgyptian cigarettes. The dromedary camel pack has been the subject of some controversy. The issueof this research is; the reason why a cigarette brand famous for containing Turkish tobacco is represented with a visual structure that is unique to Egypt today. As a result of the analysis, the association of the items on the package with the Turks, from the origin of the camel to the architecturalfigures, was revealed, and their place in the perception system of the period was examined.
