Abstract

As a consequence of the studies carried out after a ratting to the Directorate of Isparta Museum in 1988, the vaulted chamber tomb dating from the Late Roman Period has been found. The works of excavation carried out by the museum staff has yielded the revealing of the structure and 8 candles, 1 coin and 79 glass beads have been extracted out of it. Following the practice of required evaluation and preliminary assessments, the structure has been closed down with regard to conservation purposes. We, as a result of the analysis performed, suggest that the tomb and finds have been used between 4th and 7th centuries. The tomb also plays a key role suggesting that pagan funeral traditions were still practiced in Pisida Region even when Christianity spread.
