Sağlık Alanında Öğrenim Gören Öğrencilerin Umut ve Umutsuzluk Düzeyleri

Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı ülkemizde son senelerde çok tercih edilen sağlık alanında eğitim alan öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeylerini belirlemek ve birbirleriyle karşılaştırmaktır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin sosyodemografik özellikleri, mesleki farkındalıklarının düzeylerini ve mesleki kaygılarının fakültelere göre farklılıklarını incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmaya Eczacılık, Diş Hekimliği, Sağlık Bilimleri ve Hemşirelik Fakültesinde öğrenim gören son eğitim yıllarında olan 470 öğrenci alınmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan kişisel bilgileri içeren form araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeylerini saptamak için “Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği”, kullanıldı. Bulgular: Elde edilen sonuçlara göre iş bulma kaygısı taşıyan ve mesleklerinin saygınlığının yeterli olmadığını düşünen fakültenin Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi olduğu, mesleki açıdan kendilerini en yetersiz hisseden fakültenin Eczacılık Fakültesi olduğu görüldü. Kontenjan artışının öğrenciler üzerinde yarattığı endişe durumu, mezun sayısının ihtiyaçtan fazla olduğunu düşünen öğrencilerin sayısı ve mesleki istihdam sayısının yetersiz olduğunu düşünen öğrencilerin sayısı incelendiğinde en endişeli fakültenin Eczacılık Fakültesi olduğu saptandı. Abstract
Objective: The aim of this study is to compare the hopelessness level of students who are being educated at the most commonly preferred health faculties of Turkey and to investigate their occupational awareness level and occupational concerns.Materials and Methods: A total of 470 final year students who were being educated at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dentistry School, and Nursing School were included in the study. The “Personal Information Questionnaire,” which was prepared by the researchers, was used and the “Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS)” was used to determine the hopelessness level.Results: The Faculty of Health Sciences students were concerned about finding a job and thought that their prestige of profession is not sufficient. The students who felt most inadequate in terms of their profession were found to belong to the Faculty of Pharmacy. When the job-finding anxiety caused by the increase of quota was investigated, the number of students who thought that there were more number of graduates than needed and that the degree of employment was insufficient was found to maximum in the most worried faculty, i.e., Pharmacy.
