The effect of P-aminophenol on the GSH and MDA levels in liver and protective effect of GSH: P-aminophenol does not effect antioxidant enzymes

Abstract

Purpose: In this study, p-Aminophenol (PAP)-mediated oxidative stress and the role of reduced glutathione (GSH) were investigated in rat hepatic tissue. Methods: PAP (200 mg/kg) was injected to one group of rats. PAP plus reduced glutathione (GSH;300 mg/kg) were given to another group. After 96 h, the animals were killed and SOD, GPx, CAT, GSSGR, GSH and MDA measured in the hepatic tissues.
