Abstract
Colchicine is an effective drug to treat and prevent acute gout attacks with a narrow therapeutic range. Chronic colchicine toxicity may be seen in patients with hepatocellular insufficiency or renal failure. In particular, patients with renal dysfunction are prone to the development of colchicine myopathy with chronic usage. We report here the development of colchicine myopathy in a patient with mild chronic renal insufficiency and nasopharyngeal cancer.
