Benign schwannoma of the tongue with sudden enlargement

Abstract

Schwannomas are usually benign, encapsulated tumor of the nerve sheath. It is a rare tumor of the tongue. We report a 27-year-old male patient who complained of discomfort in swallowing, speech, and a sudden enlargement in his tongue mass. It was resected easily through the intraoral route under local anesthesia. There was no recurrence after two years follow-up.
