Bir köpek ve kedide retrobulber apse ve orbital sellülitis

Özet

A Ü Veteriner Fakültesi Cerrahi Bilim Dalı Kliniğine getirilen bir köpek ve bir kedide klinik muayene sonunda sırasıyla; retrobulber apse ve orbital sellülitis tanısı konulmuştur. Orbital sellülitis ve retrobulber apse olgularının ortak semptomlar göstermesi yanında, retrobulber apse olgusunun daha şiddetli klinik bulgular sergilediği tespit edilmiştir. Olgular orbital boşluğun oral kaviteden drenajı, intraorbital ve parenteral antibiotik uygulamaları ile tedavi edilmiştir. Bu konuda ülkemizde yayınlanan bir çalışmanın olmaması ve pratik yapan veteriner hekimlere yararlı olacağı düşüncesi ile olguların klinik görünümlerinin, tanı ve tedavi yöntemlerinin bildirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Abstract

By the way of the clinical examination, retrobulbar abscess and orbital cellulitis were diagnosed in one dog and one cat, respectively, which were brought to the Clinic of Department of Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Although similar clinical signs were observed that retrobulbar abscess and orbital cellulitis, it has been observed that retrobulbar abscess case showed more serious , clinical signs. The cases were treated by the drainage of orbital cavity from oral cavity and by administration of antibiotics intraorbitally and parenterally. Since there is no published study in this field in our country and with the hope that it will be useful for the practicioners, the clinical status, diagnosis and treatment methods were reported in this study.
