Özet

Kasım 1997 ile Aralık 1998 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilen bu çalışma süresince Bayramdere Dalyam'ndaki kefal ba-lıklan (Mugil cephalus L.)'nm metazoon parazit faunası araştırılmış ve Ligophorus mugilinus, Microcotyle mııgilis (Plathelminlhes, Monogenea); Haplosplanchus pachysomus, Haploporus benedeni (Plathelminthes, Digenea); Neoechinorhynchus sp. (Acant-hocephala); Ergasilus sieboldi (Arthropoda, Copepoda) olmak üzere 6 parazit türü kaydedilmiştir. Bu parazitlerden M. mugilis'e çalışma süresince 3 kefal balığının solungaçlarında yalnızca 6 adet rastlanılmıştır. Buna karşılık, Neoechinorynchus sp.'ye, tüm çalışma boyunca her boy balıkta rastlanılmıştır.

Abstract

In this study, metazoan parasites of grey mullet (Mugil cephalus L.) from Bayramdere Lagoon were investigated between November 1997 and December 1998. Parasites belonging to six species were recorded: Ligophorus mugilinus, Microcotyle mugilis (Plathelminthes, Monogenea); Haplosplanchus pachysomus, Haploporus benedeni (Plathelminthes, Digenea); Neoechinorynchus sp. (Acanthocephala); Ergasilus sieboldi (Arthropoda, Copepoda). Of these, Neoechinorhynchus sp. was the most prevalent species found in fish of all sizes during the year of the study, but M. mugilis was seen only six specimens on the gills of the host fish. However, E. sieboldi infection rate was the highest during summer and autumn and minimal level during winter and early spring, with smaller peaks having more parasites than larger host mullet. The other dominant parasites, H. pachysomus and H. benedeni, produced two generations per season, with peaks in spring and autumn and there was a negative correlation between size of the host and density of these parasites. Also, occurrence density, seasonal changes and the preferences of the parasite species for various size groups of its mullet host were discussed in detail.
