Üniversite Yerleşkeleri İçin Çevresel Sürdürülebilirlik Dizinleri: Akdeniz Üniversitesi Örneği

Özet
Sürdürülebilir çevre; gelecek kuşakların ihtiyaç duyacağı kaynakların varlığını ve kalitesini tehlikeye atmadan, hem bugünün hem de gelecek kuşakların çevresini oluşturan tüm çevresel değerlerin her alanda ıslahı, korunması ve geliştirilmesi süreci olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Kent dokusunda önemli bir yere sahip olan üniversite yerleşkeleri mikro ölçekte çevresel sorunlarının oluştuğu ortamlardan biridir. Bu sebeple, kent dokusundaki sürdürülebilir yeşil alt yapı bağlamında üniversite yerleşkelerine büyük bir sorumluluk düşmektedir. Sürdürülebilir çevre stratejileri izlenerek oluşturulmuş yerleşkelerin çevreye, iklime ve insan sağlığına uygun bir yapıda olması sağlanabilir. Bu bakımdan yerleşkeler için geliştirilen ulusal ve uluslararası çevresel sürdürülebilirlik dizinleri büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, üniversite yerleşkeleri için geliştirilen ulusal ve uluslararası çevresel sürdürülebilirlik dizinleri ile, Endonezya Üniversitesi tarafından geliştirilen Yeşil Metrik (UI GreenMetric) dizini incelenmiştir. Bu dizinlerde henüz değerlendirme kapsamına girmemiş olan Akdeniz Üniversitesi yerleşkesi örneğinde değerlendirmeler yapılmış, yerleşkenin bu dizinlerdeki avantaj ve dezavantajlı yönleri tartışılmış ve değerlendirme sistemindeki alabileceği potansiyel puanı arttırmaya yönelik öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
Abstract
Sustainable environment is defined as the process of improvement, protection and development of all environmental values that constitute the environment of both present and future generations in every field without jeopardizing the existence and quality of the resources that future generations will need. University campuses are one of the areas where environmental problems occur at the micro scale which have an important place in the urban fabric. For this reason, university campuses have a great importance in the context of sustainable green infrastructure in the urban fabric. It can be ensured that the settlements established by following sustainable environmental strategies are in a structure suitable for the environment, climate and human health. In this regard, national and international environmental sustainability indexes developed for the campuses are of great importance. In this study, national and international environmental sustainability indexes developed for university campuses and UI GreenMetric index developed by University of Indonesia were examined. In these indexes, besides the rankings, evaluation system and importance percentages of the universities in our country, evaluations were made in the example of Akdeniz University campus which has not been included in this evaluation yet. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of Akdeniz University campus in these indexes were discussed and suggestions were made to increase the potential score in the evaluation system.
