Özet

Bu makalenin konusunu, 1945-1960 tarihsel aralığında Demokrat Parti’nin demokrasi söylemioluşturmaktadır. Bu eksende, Demokrat Parti’nin demokrasi söylemindeki değişim ve dönüşüm ışığında üçayrı evre tespit edilmiştir. Birinci evreyi Demokrat Parti’nin muhalefette bulunduğu 1945-1950 dönemioluşturmaktadır. Bu evrede Demokrat Parti’nin demokrasi söylemi, demokrasinin geliştirilmesi ve temel hakve özgürlüklerin genişletilmesi talepleri üzerine kuruludur. 1950-1954 tarihsel aralığını kapsayan ikincievrede ise, muhalefet yıllarının demokrasi söyleminin hızını kesmeye başladığı ve giderek demokrasinin vebu eksende temel hak ve özgürlüklerin sınırlarının çizilmeye başlandığı bir dönemdir. Üçüncü evre ise, 1954- 1960 tarihsel aralığını kapsamakta ve Demokrat Parti’nin demokrasiden uzaklaştığı ve otoriter bir yönetimkurduğu bir sürece tekabül etmektedir.

Abstract

The topic of the article is the democracy rhetoric of the Democrat Party during the period 1945-1960.In this context, three different seperate phases have been identified in the light of the evolution andtransformation of democracy rhetoric of Democrat Party during years. The first phase is covered by the years1945-1950, when Democrat Party was in opposition. In this phase, the rhetoric of democracy was based on tothe idea of to strenghten democracy and to improve fundamental rights and freedoms.In the second phasecovering the period 1950-1954, the rhetoric of democracy was started to slow down and the limits of thefundamental rights and freedoms began to determined in this context. The third phase covering the years1954- 1960 reflects a period when Democrat Party moved away from democracy and established anauthoritarian governance.
