Bu gruplar: I. grup: Kontrol. 2. grup: Aşındırılmış 3. grup: Aşındmlmış + pomza ile polisaj. 4. grup: Aşındırılmış+polisaj patı ile polisaj. 5. grup: Aşındırılmış+otoglaze.6. grup: Aşındırılmış+glaze. 7. grup. Aşındırılmış+lastik. Elde edilen veriler ile yapılan istatistiksel değerlendirmede, bütün porselen tiplerinde kontrol grubu ile diğer altı grup arasında istatistiksel önem taşıyacak derecede fark bulunmuştur (p
Abstract
The flexure strength of dental porcelain is an important criteria for the success of the restorations. It is a common clinical practice to adjust porcelain restorations following luting in the mouth although this is not suitable. Furthermore, the porcelain must be reglazed or polished with pumice or polishing paste and a polishing kit. There is a controversy on the effects of this procedures to the flexure strength of porcelain. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of the different surface treatments on 105 three different feldspathic porcelain disc shaped specimens (Vita VMK 68, Match Maker and Ceramco II) by using biaxial flexure strength. These surface treatments are: 1. group: Control 2. group: Ground 3. group: Ground+polishing with rubber wheel and pumice. 4. group: Ground+polishing withrubber wheel and polishing paste. 5. group: Ground+autoglazing. 6. group: Ground+glazing. 7. group: Ground+polishingwith rubber wheel. There was a statistical difference between control and the other six surface treatment groups according to flexure strength values (p
