Abstract

The aim of this in vitro study was, to investigate the fluoride release and recharge of a resin modified glass ionomer cement and a poly acid modified resin composite. The discs of materials were stored in deionized water. The amount of fluoride released from materials was measured after 24 hours, 7,14,28 days, 2 and 5 months time intervals utilizing Russell PCW7/S7 Ion Selective Fluor Electrode technique with Nel PO2008 ionanalyzer. As the amount of fluoride release at 5 months was dropped to a minimal level which couldn't be measurable, the specimens from each materials were exposed to 1,23 % APF gel for 4 minutes. In order to evaluate the rechargeable capacity, the amount of fluoride released of the materials was measured at 24 hours, 5,10 and 20 days. The greatest amount of fluoride released from each materials was on the first 24 hours. At the end of the 24 hours, the amount of fluoride released from Fuji II LC was significantly more then F2000 (p
