Abstract
The aim of this clinical study was to determine the alterations occurred in the gingival dimensions following coronally repositioned flap procedure (CRF) in the follow-up period: Twenty-four patients with a total of 48 buccally located Miller's Class I recession type defects were included in this study. The recession sites were surgically covered with CRF. Clinical examinations, including measurements of recession depth (RD), width of recession (WR), clinical attachment level (CAL), probing pocket depth(PD), width of keratinized gingiva (WKG), the location of the mucogingivai junction (MGJ) and thickness of facial gingiva (TG) were performed. At the re-examination performed 12 months after surgical treatment, the mean RD had decreased to 0.63 ± 0.76 mm at surgical sites. At the 12 month follow-up examination, the mean root coverage amounted to 76 ± 26%. The statistical analysis revealed that, the mean root coverage obs'erved at the 12 month follow-up examination significantly influenced negatively by baseline RD (r=-0,327, p
