Astmalı hastalarda total IgE ve alfa-1-antitripsin düzeyleri

Özet
Bronşiyel astma , hırıltılı solunum, hava yollan tıkanıklığı, artmış total serum IgE ve atopi ile karakterize bir hastalıktır. Bu çalışmada, astmalı hastalarda ve kontrol grubunda serum alfa-1-antitripsin ($alpha$ 1AT) ve total IgE seviyeleri saptanıp, astmatik ve kontrol grupları arasındaki olası istatistiksel ilişki incelenmiştir. 97 astmalı hasta ekstrensek ve intrensek (sırasıyle, n:42, 55) astma olarak sınıflandırılmıştır. Ayrıca, 97 kontrol birey de çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Ekstrensek ve intrensek astma ve kontrol grubunun total IgE seviyeleri sırasıyle (Ort$pm$SEM), 311.2$pm$42.2 kU/1, 107.2±20.7 kU/1 ve 108.7$pm$12.7 kU/1 olarak bulunmuştur. Ekstrensek astma ve kontrol grubu arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunurken (p0.05). Astmada total serum IgE seviyelerinin artığı bilinmektedir. Fakat total IgE serum seviyeleri arasında saptanan bu farkın, ekstrensek ve intrensek astmayı ayırt etmede kullanılabileceğini düşündürmektedir.
Abstract
Bronchial asthma is characterized by episodic airway obstruction and associated with wheezing, a bronchodilator response, an elevation in total serum IgE and atopy. The aim of this study is to determine serum levels of total IgE and alpha-1-antitrypsine ($alpha$1AT) levels of patients with asthma and to find out any relation between asthmatic and control groups. We enrolled 97 patients with asthma and classified as intrinsic and extrinsic groups (n:55 and 42, respectively) and also 97 control subjects to this study. Total IgE levels of extrinsic asthma, intrinsic asthma and control groups as mean(Ort$pm$SEM were 311.2±42.2 kU/1, 107.2$pm$20.7 kU/1 and 108.7±12.7 kU/1, respectively. Statistically difference was not found between extrinsic asthma and control group (p0.05). An elevation in total serum IgE level is known in asthma but it is thought that statistically significant difference between total IgE levels of intrinsic and extrinsic asthma might use to distinct intrinsic and extrinsic asthma.
