Abstract
The journal, Annales School of History, was first established in Strasbourg with the aim of bringing an opportunity for historiography and History that bear the features of human sciences in the 19th Century. This beginning became widespread in Paris and turned into a new movement in time. This movement, having been shaped around the names, Lucien Febvre and Marc Bloch, aimed to keep the classical understanding of history that was shaped by the political issues at the background and bring forward the reflection of the political issues over social and economic life. Their main goal was to publish a journal that was different from the understanding of History that was in process before them. The new historianship mentality that had the opportunity to spread around the World, had also the chance to get spread in our country whether directly by the masters themselves or by their students. This article tries to explain the adventure of Annales School of History and the new approach it brought to historiography in Turkey.
