Özet

Günümüz tıbbında, hastaların ve ailelerinin aktif katılımının önemi vurgulanmakta, dolayısı ile aile üyelerinin otopsiye karşı davranış ve duygularının incelenmesi de önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışma, adli otopsi¬lerde aile üyelerinin otopsiye karşı tutumunun belirlenmesi düşüncesi ile planlanmıştır. Şubat-Nisan 2003 tarihleri arasında Bursa, U.Ü. Tıp Fakültesi morgunda yakınlarına adli otopsi yapılırken bekleyen aile üyelerinden 93 kişiye yazılı bir anket formu sözel olarak uygulanmıştır. Anket iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde uygulanan kişiye ait kimlik bilgileri, ikinci bölümde otopsi ile ilgili tutumunu belirleyen sorular bulunmaktadır. 93 katılımcının 7'si (%8) kadın, 86'sı (%92) erkektir, 59'u (%63) ilköğrenim, 16'sı (%17) lise ve 17 (%16) üniversite eğitimi almıştır. Yapılacak otopsi işlemi konusunda katılımcıların %94'ü bilgi sahibi olmazken, %69'u bilgilendirilmek istemektedirler. Otopsi sonrası ölüm nedeni konusunda bilgilendirilmek isteyenlerin oranı ise %80'dir. Bu çalışma adli otopsi uygulaması esnasında aile üyelerinin yapılan işlem ve ölüm nedeni konusunda bilgilendirmenin otopsiye daha pozitif bir bakış açısı kazandıracağını vurgulamaktadır.

Abstract

Background. In present day medicine a greater emphasis is being placed on the active participation of patients and their families, it is time that the attitude and feelings of the families with regard to autopsies are investigated. This study is planned with regard to helping in reducing the symptomatology in the grieving process by informing about the autopsy procedure and the cause of death. Material and Methods. In 2003 between February and April a questionnaire is applied verbal to 93 deceaseds' relatives who were waiting outside the autopsy room while the autopsy has been carrying out. The questionnaire form has two sections. The first section consists of personal information of participant and the second section contains questions about the attitude of the relative to forensic autopsy. Results. Of the 93 participants, 7 (8%) were female and 86 (92 %) were male, 59 (63 %) have primary education, 16 (17%) high school and 17 (16%) university education. The ratio of the participants who didn't have knowledge about the procedure is 94 %, wanted to be informed about the procedure is 69 % and about the cause of death is 80 %. Conclusion. This study points out that family members could approach more positively to the autopsy and organ donation by informing the relatives about the procedure of the autopsy and the cause of death.
