Abstract
A 71-year-old man was admitted to our hospital for routinecardiac evaluation. Transthoracic echocardiography uponcardiac murmur showed a 1.9x2.9 cm right ventricularmass, protruding into the pulmonary artery duringsystole. Although the mass caused a maximal restingoutflow gradient of 22 mmHg due to the obstructionof the pulmonary artery during systole, the patientwas asymptomatic. Transesophageal echocardiographyindicated a suspicious diagnosis of the right ventricularmyxoma. The surgical excision of the intracardiac masswas scheduled due to an increased risk of embolism. Thehistopathological diagnosis was myxoma.
