Abstract

Objective: This study has been conducted to determine the comp liance of nurses to isolation precautions and the factors affecting them. Methods: The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 120 nurses who agreed to participate in the study. Data were collected between January-April 2017. Scale of Compliance with Isolation Precautions and a survey form have been used to collect. In the sta tistics, SPSS 22 program has been utilized for number, percentage, average, t test, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test and multip le regression analysis. Results: It was determined that 45.8% of the nurses participating in the study were between 25-35 years of age and 47.5% were underg raduate graduates. The score of compliance has been noted as 77.64 ± 10.83. According to the multiple regression analysis, the increase in the score in the variables of marital status and the person to whom isolation is required affects the scale score to increase. Conclusion: The compliance level of nurses to isolation precautions was not low. It is recommended that trainings and inspections should be increased in order to support the improvement of the education level of nurses and compliance with isolation precautions.
