Akredite Olan Bir Hemşirelik Bölümünde Eğitim Alan Öğrencilerin Lisans Eğitiminde Akreditasyona Yönelik Düşünceleri

Attitudes of Students’ Studying in an Accredited Nursing Department towards Accreditation in Undergraduate Education

Özet

Bu çalışmada, akredite olan bir hemşirelik bölümünde eğitim alan öğrencilerin lisans eğitiminde akreditasyona yönelik düşünceleriniincelemek amaçlanmıştır. Kesitsel tipteki bu araştırma, Kasım-Aralık 2019 tarihleri arasında Trakya Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri FakültesiHemşirelik Bölümü’nde eğitim gören 1., 2., 3. ve 4. sınıf n=488 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma verileri araştırmacılar tarafındanliteratür incelenerek oluşturulan “Anket Formu” ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistik ve ki-kare testikullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 20,1±1,5 olup %82,2’sinin cinsiyeti kadındır. Öğrencilerin %92,6’sının akreditasyonu duyduğu,akreditasyonu duyanların %84,0’ının okul veya dersten duyduğu, %81,4’ünün akreditasyonu bildiği, akreditasyonu bilenlerin %91,4’ününhemşirelik bölümünün akredite olduğunu bildiğini ifade ettiği bulunmuştur. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin %96,9’unun akreditasyonun birbölümün imajını ve kalitesini olumlu yönde etkilediğini, %96,5’inin akreditasyonun öğrencilerin eğitim deneyimlerini olumlu yöndedeğiştirmeye katkıda bulunduğunu, %91,8’inin akreditasyonun öğrencilerin iletişim ve problem çözme becerilerini eğitim hayatlarıboyunca değerlendirmeyi sağladığını düşündüğü belirlenmiştir. Akredite olan hemşirelik bölümü öğrencilerinin çoğu akreditasyonailişkin bilgiyi okul/dersten öğrenmiştir. Öğrenciler hemşirelik bölümünün akreditasyon gerektiren bir bölüm olduğunu ve akredite olanbir bölümün imajını ve kalitesini olumlu yönde etkilediğini düşünmektedir

Abstract

In this study, it is aimed to examine the attitudes of students’ studying in an accredited nursing department towards accreditation inundergraduate education. This cross - sectional study was conducted on the first, second, third and fourth grade n = 488 students studyingin the Nursing Department of Trakya University Faculty of Health Sciences between November and December 2019. The research datawere collected by the “Questionnaire Form erek which was prepared by the researchers. Descriptive statistics and chi-square were usedin the evaluation of the data. The mean age of the students was 20.1 ± 1.5 and 82.2% were female. The study has found that 92.6% ofthe students heard accreditation, 84.0% of the students heard at the school or course, 81.4% knew accreditation, 91.4% of those whoknew accreditation also knew that the nursing department is accredited. It has been also found that 96.9% of nursing students think thataccreditation positively affect the image and quality of a department, 96.5% of them think that accreditation contribute to change theeducational experience of students, 91.8% of them think that accreditation helps students’ communication and problem solving skillsevaluation. While most nursing department students have heard and know accreditation, most of them have learned it at the school/course. The accredited nursing department students think that the nursing department requires accreditation, and that accreditation has apositive effect on the image and quality of a department
