Duodenal bezlerdeki sekretuar hücrelerin tavşanda asit müsin, sıçanda nötral müsin salgıladığı, goblet hücrelerinin her iki hayvanda da nötral müsin salgıladığı sonucuna varıldı. Duodenal bezler müköz bezler olarak bilinmesine karşın, çalışmamızda tavşan duodenumunda müköz asinüsler arasına serpilmiş seröz asinüsler de gözlendi. James'in gümüşleme boyası ile, tavşanda ve sıçanda duodenumun yüzey epitelinde, intestinal ve duodenal bezlerde siyah sitoplazmik granüllü enteroendokrin hücreler gösterildi.

Abstract

In this study, the structural features and mucin content of goblet cells in the surface epithelium and the intestinal glands and of the secretory cells of duodenal glands in the duodenum of rabbit and rat were compared, using Haematoxylin-eosin and Alcian blue-Periodic Acid Schiff staining techniques. It was found that the secretory cells of the glands of duodenum produce acid mucins in the rabbit and neutral mucins in the rat, whereas goblet cells produce neutral or mixed mucins in both animals. Although duodenal glands are considered to be mucous glands, in our study, serous acini were observed to be scattered between the mucous acini in the duodenum of rabbit. Using James silver staining technique, enteroendocrin cells with black cytoplasmic granules were found in the surface epithelium of duodenal and intestinal glands within the duodenum of rabbit and rat.
