Özet

Karsinoid tümörler biyojenik aminler ve polipeptid hormonlar üreterek karsinoid sendroma neden olurlar. Ancak bu tümörler diğer malign hastalıklardan farklı olarak yavaş gelişirler ve geç metastaz yaparlar. Semptomların ortaya çıkışından metastazlar nedeniyle ölüme kadar geçen süre ortalama 9 yıldır. Bizim vakamızın karsinoid tümör tanısı konmasından ölümüne kadar 13 yıl geçmesi nedeniyle bu vakayı sunmayı ve ilgili literatürü gözden geçirmeyi amaçladık.

Abstract

Carcinoid tumors secrete biogenic amines and polypeptide hormones, and cause carcinoid syndrome. In contrast to other malignant tumors, they are characterized by a slow growth rate and late metastases, with the time from onset of the symptoms until death from metastasis being an average of nine years. We present this case because the time between the diagnosis of the tumor until death was 13 years, and we also aimed to review the relevant literature. This case is presented because the time between tumor diagnosis and death was 13 years. A review of the relevant literature is also undertaken.
