Öğretmen Adaylarının Depresyon Düzeyleri, Öğretme Motivasyonları ve Mesleğe Karşı Tutumlarının İncelenmesi

Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarının depresyon düzeyleri, öğretme motivasyonları ve öğretmenlik mesleğine karşı tutumlarınıincelemektir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeline göre yürütülmüştür. Araştırmaya Türkiye’deki bir devlet üniversitesinin EğitimFakültesinde öğrenim gören 235 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Burns Depresyon Ölçeği, ÖğretmeMotivasyonu Ölçeği, Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmaya katılan öğretmen adaylarının bazıdemografik bilgilerini belirlemeye yönelik araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulgularıincelendiğinde öğretmen adaylarının cinsiyetlerine, yaşadıkları yerleşim yerlerine ve sosyo-ekonomik düzeylerine göre depresyondüzeyleri, öğretme motivasyonları ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıcadepresyon düzeyi ile öğretme motivasyonu ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum arasında anlamlı ilişki belirlenemezken, öğretmemotivasyonu ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı korelasyon bulunmuştur. Sonuçlar öğretmenadaylarının öğretme motivasyonun artırılması için öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutum düzeylerinin yüksek olmasının önemli olduğunugöstermektedir.
Abstract
The research aims to examine the pre-service teachers’ depression levels, teaching motivation and attitudes towards the teaching profession.The research was carried out according to the survey model. The sample of the study was carried out with of 235 pre-service teachers inEducation Faculties in Turkey. In the research, Burns Depression Scale, Teaching Motivation Scale, and Attitude Scale towards TeachingProfession were used as the measurements. In addition, a personal information form prepared by the researchers was used to collectsome demographic information of pre-service teachers participating in the research. When the findings of the study were examined, itwas determined that the pre-service teacher did not show a significant difference in their depression levels, teaching motivations, andattitudes towards the teaching profession according to their gender, place of residence, and socio-economic level. In addition, while therewas no significant relationship between depression level and teaching motivation and attitude towards the teaching profession, a positivecorrelation was found between teaching motivation and the attitude towards the teaching profession. The results show that it is importantfor pre-service teachers to have a high level of attitude towards the teaching profession to increase their teaching motivation
