Abstract
Aim: The aim of this study was to reveal the predictions and experiences of the nursing and midwifery students who take the anatomy lesson in two different ways, face to face traditional education and online education. Method: This descriptive study was carried out on 699 nursing and midwifery students between July and December 2020, at Mersin University Faculty of Nursing and İçel School of Health Midwifery Department and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Niğde Zübeyde Hanım School of Health. The students were classified as the first group, who received the face to face anatomy education and the second group, who received online education. In the study, the forms sent to the students via WhatsApp and filled in then sent back by the volunteers. A questionnaire form consisting of 19 questions composed by the researchers by scanning the literature was applied to the students. The data was collected by a five-point Likerts’ scale consisting of "I completely agree (5), I agree (4), I am undecided (3), I do not agree (2), and I strongly disagree (1)". Results: According to the results obtained from the student groups, the students need practice lessons and wanted the visual and audio sources to be integrated more into the lessons. Students who receive online anatomy education had more need for the videos prepared by the educator, the availability of online course materials, hybrid education. They reported that online anatomy education was more effective. Conclusion: As a result of this study, which included student predictions and experiences, it was seen that efforts should be made to improve anatomy education. In particular, it is necessary to increase the visual and auditory lesson resources to compensate for the contribution of practical lessons, to apply innovative teaching techniques and to overcome technical deficiencies quickly.
