Congenital megalourethra and posterior urethral valve in a patient with Down syndrome

Özet

Megalourethra is a rare congenital anomaly of the urethra that develops as a consequence of dysgenesis ofthe corpus cavernosum and corpus spongiosum. Herein, we present three congenital abnormalities in onenewborn ie; Down syndrome, posterior urethral valve (PUV) and scaphoid megalourethra. The patient wastreated successfully by ablation PUV and reduction uretrophlasty. The postoperative period was uneventfuland the renal functions could be preserved in the long term.
