Özet

Cumhuriyet’in ilanından sonra Türkiye’de nüfusun %80’ini oluşturan köylerde okuma yazma bilennüfusun çok az olması nedeniyle birtakım eğitim politikaları geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Köylerin kalkınması,öğretmen sorunu vb. nedenlerle ilk eğitmen kursu Eskişehir Çiftelerde 1936-1937 eğitim öğretim yılındaaçılmıştır. Bu kursların açılmasında dönemin Milli Eğitim Bakanı Hasan Ali Yücel ve İlköğretim GenelMüdürü İsmail Hakkı Tonguç’un büyük katkısı olmuştur. Eğitmen Kursları, 17 Nisan 1940 tarihinde 3803Sayılı Köy Enstitüleri Kanunuyla Köy Enstitülerine dönüştürülmüştür. Bu okullara, ilkokuldan mezun olanöğrencilerden sınav yapılarak öğrenci alınmış olup, okulda verilen genel dersler ve öğretmenlik dersleriyleülkenin hem öğretmen sorunu giderilmeye çalışılmış hem de verilen teknik ve ziraat dersleriyle köylerinkalkınması amaçlanmıştır. 1939 yılında Gönen’de, Eğitmen Yetiştirme Kursu olarak açılan Gönen EğitmenKursu, 24 Nisan 1940 tarihinde 120 öğrencisiyle eğitmen okulu olarak faaliyete geçmiştir. Denizli, Burdur veIsparta’dan 40’ar toplamda 120 öğrenci bu okulun ilk öğrencileri olmuştur. 1943-1944 eğitim-öğretimine yılınakadar 4 yıllık eğitim veren Gönen Köy Enstitüsü bu yıldan itibaren 5 yıllık eğitime başlamıştır. Ancak 1949-1950 eğitim öğretim yılında bu okullara hazırlık sınıfı da getirilmiştir. Gönen Köy Enstitüsü, 1954’te 6234Sayılı Kanun’la köy enstitülerinin öğretmen okulları ile birleştirilmesiyle Gönen İlköğretmen Okulu adınıalmıştır. Gönen Köy Enstitüsü, 1955 yılına kadar 42 kız, 883 erkek öğretmen mezun etmiş ve 925 mezunöğretmeni ülkenin çeşitli yerlerinde görev yapmıştır. Bu çalışmada; 1940-1954 yılları arasında öğretmenyetiştirmek amacıyla faaliyet gösteren köy enstitüleri hakkında genel bilgi verildikten sonra Gönen KöyEnstitüsü’nün tarihsel gelişimi, faaliyetleri, öğretmen ve öğrenci bilgileri aktarılarak Gönen Köy Enstitüsü’nünTürkiye’nin eğitimine katkılarının ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır.

Abstract

After the proclamation of the Republic have very little due to the literate population in the villages that make up 80 percent of the population in Turkey has been trying to develop some educational policies. Due to development of villages, teacher problem etc. reasons, the first instructor course was opened in Eskişehir Çifteler in the academic year of 1936-1937. In the opening of these courses, Hasan Ali Yücel, the Minister of National Education of the time, and Ismail Hakkı Tonguç, General Director of Primary Education, contributed greatly. Trainer Courses were transformed into Village Institutes on April 17, 1940 with the Law on Village Institutes No. 3803. Students who graduated from primary school were taken to these schools by taking an exam, and with the general lessons and teaching lessons given at the school, both the teacher problem of the country was tried to be solved and the development of the villages was aimed with the technical and agriculture lessons. The Gonen Instructor Course, which was opened as an Instructor Training Course in Gonen in 1939, became operational as an instructor school with 120 students on 24 April 1940. A total of 120 students, 40 each from Denizli, Burdur and Isparta, were the first students of this school. Gonen Village Institute, which provided 4-year education until 1943-1944 education, started 5-year education from this year. 1949-1950 academic year. Gonen Village Institute was named Gonen Primary Education School by combining village institutes with teacher schools in 1954 with the law numbered 6234. Gonen Village Institute had graduated 42 female and 883 male teachers until 1955, and 925 graduate teachers worked in various parts of the country. In this study; After giving general information about the village institutes that were active in order to train teachers between 1940-1954, Gonen Village Institute's contributions to Turkey's education have been aimed to reveal by transferring the historical development of Gonen Village Institute, activities, teachers and students informations.
