A Study on the Development of Ego States Scale

Özet

Giriş: Bu çalışmanın amacı, bireylerin ego durumlarını ölçmek için bir ölçek geliştirmektir. Yöntem: Ego Durumları Ölçeği nin ilk taslağı kırk madde içermektedir ve 2013-2014 öğretim yılında 309 (170 kadın, 129 erkek) üniversite öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Ölçeğin, Cronbach Alfa katsayısının, .84 olduğu görülmüştür. Faktör analizi sonrası toplam varyansın % 40ını açıklayan, 3 faktörlü bir yapı ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu yapının doğrulanması amacıyla yapılan, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda uyum indeksi değerleri ise RMSEA= .063, GFI= .97, CFI= .97, AGFI= .95, NFI= .95, NNFI= .93 ve SRMR= .042 olarak bulunmuştur. Geliştirilen Ego Durumları Ölçeği 3 alt boyuttan (Ebeveyn, Yetişkin ve Çocuk) oluşmuş ve birinci alt boyutta 7 madde, ikinci alt boyutta 6 madde ve üçüncü alt boyutta 4 madde yer almıştır. Sonuç: Ölçeğin ego durumlarını ölçmek için uygun özelliklere sahip olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this study is to develop a scale to measure ego states of the individuals. Method: The first draft of the Ego States Scale contains forty items and was conducted on 309 (170 female, 129 male) college students in 2013-2014. Results: It has been seen that Cronbach s Alfa of the scale is .84. After factor analysis; it has been showed that there are 3 factored structures which explain 40% of total variance. In order to confirm that structure, confirmatory factor analysis has been conducted and values of fit indices are RMSEA= .063, GFI= .97, CFI= .97, AGFI= .95, NFI= .95, NNFI= .93 and SRMR= .042. Developed Ego States Scale consists of three subscales (Parent, Adult and Child) and there are 7 items in first subscale, 6 items in second subscale and 4 items in third subscale. Conclusion: It is concluded that the scale has appropriate features for measuring the ego states.
