Solitary scalp metastasis from squamous cell carcinoma of the maxillary antrum- a rare metastatic site

Abstract

Metastatic involvement of the skin from squamous cell carcinoma of the maxillary antrum is rare. Only 3 cases of skin metastases from the carcinoma of the maxillary antrum have been reported in the literature. We report a 58-year-old woman who developed an isolated metastatic lesion in scalp seven years after the treatment of the primary disease. The surgically inoperable lesion was treated with palliative radiotherapy.
