Abstract
A 80-year-old male patient was admitted with the complaints of severe headaches and confusion. He was diagnosed as having chronic subdural hematoma. The hematoma drainage was performed with two burr-holes. Acute subdural hematoma, more than 5 cm thickness was determined in the contralateral side by the ongoing complaints after fifth hours of surgery. This hematoma was urgently evacuated by craniotomy. New Acute subdural hematoma was determined in the occipital region after sixth day of surgery. Acute hematoma was evacuated by craniotomy. In this article, we discussed a rare complication of surgery for chronic subdural hematoma.
