Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmada el tercihi, oküler dominans ve göz kayma derecesi arasındaki ilişkiler araştırıldı. Gereç ve yöntem: Yüzbeş sağlak, 20 solak denekte çalışıldı. Oküler dominans Miles testi ile tesbit edildi. Göz kayma derecesi modifiye Miles testi ile ölçüldü. Bulgular: Sağ gözün kayma mesafesi oldukça belirgin bir şekilde solaklarda sağlaklardan daha büyüktü. Sol gözün kayma mesafesi ise sağlaklarda solaklardan daha büyüktü. Yatay planda iki gözün odaklama mesafesi sağlaklarda solaklardakinden daha büyüktü. Tüm örneklemde el tercihi ile sağ gözün kayma derecesi arasında belirgin negatif Pearson korelasyonu var iken el tercihi ile sol gözün kayma derecesi arasında belirgin pozitif Pearson korelasyonu vardı. Ayrıca, el tercihi ile iki gözün odaklama mesafesi arasında belirgin pozitif Pearson korelasyonu vardı. Sonuç: Bu sonuçlar el tercihinin oküler asimetrinin derecesi ile ilişkili olabileceğini göstermektedir.
Abstract
Results: The shifting distance of the right -eye was marginally greater, although significant , in the left-handers as compared to the right -handers. The shifting distance of the left -eye was greater in the right-handers than in the left-handers. The distance of focusing points of two eyes in the horizontal plane was greater in the right -handers than in the left-handers. In the total sample , there was a significant negative Pearson correlation between hand-preference and the shifting distance of the right-eye, and there was a positive correlation between hand-preference and the shifting distance of the left-eye. In addition there was a significant positive correlation between hand preference and the distance of focusing points of two eyes. Conclusion: These results suggest that hand preference may be related to the degree of ocular asymmetry.
