Abstract

Poverty has been discussed within the new content of the concept itself which was formed into the globalization process. The authors points out that the process of globalization is a new stage in capitalism. With this process, the definition of poverty has been expanded. Even though the term "poverty" is a well known concept, there is no consensus on its definition. This is because of the multi-dimensional character of poverty. Poverty includes all of the definitions that have been developed so far and may be much more. So, the article defines globalization as the new stage of capitalism and analyzes poverty from the perspective of social exclusion.
