In this research, gastronomy museums, established to reflect the general characteristics and eating and drinking habits of culinary cultures in different countries of the world were evaluated thematically in terms of the food products exhibited. Review and document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was carried out in this study. Within the scope of this research, a total of 250 gastronomy museums in different countries were divided into 10 different themes: cuisine culture, local product, fruit/vegetable, wine/beer and other drinks, olive/olive oil, tea/coffee, cheese/delicatessen, bread and bakery products, chocolate/sugar and other museums; then mapped according to country-theme basis and detailed information about 2 museums was shared to set an example for each theme. In this study, it was determined that the United States hosts gastronomy museums of many different themes due to the complex cultural structure whereas olive oil museums are predominant in the Mediterranean and surrounding countries. France and Italy were found to have many gastronomy museums with different themes. As a result, considering that gastronomy museums are an important attraction in terms of destination marketing and tourism potential, it has been suggested that the number of this kind of museum and their promotion activities should increase.
