Özet
Bu çalışmada, üst solunum yolu obstrüksiyonuna ait yakınmaları olan 96 çocukta, nazal kavite ve nazal nazofarenksin, transnazal endoskopik muayenesi yapıldı. Amacımız, endoskopik muayene ile üst solunum yolu obstrüksiyonuna ait etyolojiyi değerlendirmekti. Üst solunum yolu obstrüksiyonu ile ilgili yakınmaları olan çocuklarda en sık sebebi adenoidal hipertrofi olduğu saptandı. Transnazal endoskopinin, obstrüktif adenoidal hipertrofinin tanısında ve operasyon kararının verilmesinde, hem objektif hem de güvenilir bir yöntem olduğu görülmüştür.
Abstract
In the present study, transnasal endoscopc examinations of nasal cavity and nasopharynx were performed in 96 children with complaints of upper airway obstruction. The aim of this study was to evaluate the aetiology of upper airway obstruction using endoscopic examination. Adenoidal hypertrophy is the commonest cause in children with the complaints of upper airway obstruction. Our results have shown that transnasal endoscopiy is both reliable and objective method for the diagnosis of obstructive adenoidal hypertrophy, selection of candidates of surgery.
