Abstract
Mind which built by modernism via dreamed up the idea of Enlightenment could dominate individual interpretation, upon holistic/universal premises. The postmodern condition strongly opposed to this aspect of mind; besides the subject portrayed at the side of the receiving society as so in the classical period, allows to subjects giving meaning to their relationship bear on objects. In this case the root of social theory, which is the product of the modern paradigm, is investigated. In this questioning process which postmodern discourse is in the center, some of claims that it would be got rid of crisis when intention and self-critique of sociology's own, while others emphasized that new sociological discourses is needed. The structural problems of modern theory encountered as 'irony' when passing to postmodern condition, while as 'black irony' is in the postmodernism. In this context, the study, when analyzing the historical roots of social sciences and especially sociology in relation to modernism and postmodernism, also sheds light on the conceptual confusion emerging postmodern period.
