Özet
Evangelike Mektebi bilfiil Rum Ortodoks Patrikhanesi tarafından 1708'de İzmir'de kurulmuş ve 1922'ye kadar faaliyetlerine neredeyse kesintisiz devam etmiş bir eğitim müessesesidir. Kuruluş amacı Ortodoks Rum milletinin ihtiyaçlarından veya taleplerinden değil, bilakis o dönemdeki Katolik misyonerlerin faaliyetlerine bir alternatif üretme mecburiyetinden kaynaklanmıştır. Ancak 1733'te İngiltere'nin himayesine geçtikten sonra bu defa Rum milletinin Aydınlanma ve Helenizm süreçlerine katkıda bulunmuştur. Bu makalede öncelikle Evangelike Mektebi'nin tarihçesi tespit edilmeye çalışılacak, bu tarihçe üzerinden kuruluş amaçları ve eğitim öğretim pratikleri incelenecektir. Bu araştırmanın temel yapıtaşlarını ise okul müfredatı, öğretmen kadrosu ve öğrencileri oluşturacaktır. Makalenin nihaî amacı gayrimüslim/azınlık okullarının mevcut literatürüne bu okulun eklemlenmesini sağlamak, Rum milletinin Aydınlanma-isyan-bağımsızlık yolunda geçirdiği aşamaları ve fikrî unsurları bu okul bağlamında yeniden okumaya çalışmaktır
Abstract
riarchate in 1708, and its activities continued almost uninterruptedly until 1922. The reasons for opening is not due to the needs or demands of the Greek Orthodox nation; on the contrary resulted from the obligation to produce an alternative to the Catholic missionary activities in that period. However, after entering the British protectorate in 1733 it has contributed to the process of Greek Enlightenment and Hellenism. First of all, in this article it will be try to determine Evangelical School's history, and then to identify the organizational goals and educational practices will be examined through its history. The research will constitute the basic building blocks of the curriculum, teaching staff and students of the school. The ultimate aim of the article is to provide Evangelical School to articulate to the minority schools in existing literature, and trying to re-reading the Greek nation's stages and intellectual elements towards Enlightenment-rebellion-independence in this school context
