Türk düşünce tarihinde Mehmet İzzet'in yeri ve önemi

Özet

Bu çalışmada Dârülfünun hocalarından Mehmet İzzet, yaşadığı dönem de gözönünde bulundurularak incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla önce Tanzimat dönemi ve sonrası, Türk Düşünce tarihi açısından ele alınmış, ardından Mehmet İzzet'in hayatı, kişiliği ve felsefi yaklaşımı hem kendi eserlerine hem de meslektaşlarının oııun hakkında yazdıklarına dayanılarak incelenmiştir. Son olarak Mehmet İzzet'in felsefe anlayışı üzerinde durulmuş ve Türk Düşünce Tarihi'nde hangi açılardan önem arzeden bir düşünür olduğu gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır.

Abstract

In this paper, Mehmet İzzet who was one of the lecturers at Darülfünun [The House of Sciences] has been investigated by taking into account the epoch he lived in. For this purpose, firstly, the period of Tanzimat [Administrative Reforms] and the aftermath of it have been undertaken in terms of The History of Turkish Thought. Secondly, Mehmet İzzet's life, personality and philosophical approach have been detected on the basis of both his own works and the writings of his colleagues about him. Finally, Mehmet İzzet's philosophical understanding has been accentuated, and in what context he is important in The History of Turkish Thought has tried to have been explained.
