Rıza Tevfik: The lectures of metaphysics and aesthetics from the pulpit of Darulfunun

Özet

Bu çalışmada Meşrutiyet'ten Cumhuriyet'e devreden felsefe birikimimize katkı sağlayan isimler arasında ayrıcalıklı bir yer işgal eden, kurumsal felsefe etkinliğimizin kurucu aktörlerinden Rıza Tevfik'in Dârülfünûn'da verdiği metafizik ve estetik derslerine ait ders notlan ele alınmıştır. 26 Kânun-ı Sâni 1334'de (Ocak 1918) Mehmed Ali Aynî'nin yerine Dârülfunûn Edebiyat Medresesi felsefe ve estetik müderrisliğine atanan ve bu görevi, ülkeyi terk edişinden birkaç ay öncesine, 4 Nisan 1338 (1922) tarihine kadar sürdüren Rıza Tevfik, verdiği dersler ekseninde hazırladığı ders notlarını talebe için litograf baskı ile yayınlamıştır. Bunlar sırayla Mâ-ba 'de 't-tabî 'iyyât Derslerine Ait Vesâik (1335/1919), Mâ-ba 'de 't-tabî'iyyât Dersleri: Ontoloji Mebâ-hisi (1336/1920), Estetik (1336/1920) ve Bergson Hakkında (1337/ 1921) adlanın taşımaktadır. Yakın bir gelecekte müstakil olarak yayınlamayı düşündüğü, ancak yaşamındaki trajik gelişmelerle akamete uğrayan kitap projeleri olarak değerlendirilebilecek bu ders notları, Rıza Tevfık'in geniş felsefi birikiminin olduğu kadar, Dârülfüııûn Edebiyat Medresesi Felsefe Şubesi'ndeki felsefe etkinliğinin de tarihsel belgeleri niteliğindedir. Abstract

This study examines the notes of the courses of metaphysics and aesthetics in Dârülfunûn delivered by one of the founding actors of our institutionally philosophical activities, Rıza Tevfik, who occupied a privileged place among the figures that contributed much to our philosophical legacy transferred from the Constitutional Monarchy to the Republic. Being assigned to the post of teaching of philosophy and aesthetics of the Faculty of Letters in Dârülfunûn in January 1918 - the courses were carried out by Mehmed Ali Aynî before him- and maintaining this position until the date of April 4, 1922, the several months before his exile, Rıza Tevfik published the notes prepared in the trajectory of his lectures for students in litograph print. These are respectively entitled: Mâ-ba'de't-tabî'iyyât Derslerine Ait Vesâik (1919), Mâ-ba'de't-tabî'iyyât Dersleri: Ontoloji Mebâhisi (1920), Estetik (1920) ve Bergson Hakkında (1921). These notes that could be considered as book projects intended to be published individually in the near future, but failed due to the tragic developments in his life, are the historical documents of both Rıza Tevfik's immense philosophical knowledge and the philosophical activity of the Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Letters in Dârülfunûn.
