Özet
Bilim felsefesi bilimsel araştırma, buluş, kanıtlama, teori ve kavram oluşturma gibi konularla ilgilenen bir felsefe alanıdır. Bu yazıda ilk önce günümüz bilim felsefesinde önemli bir problem olan Quine-Duhem problemi ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra bu probleme değişik filozoflar tarafından önerilen bazı çözümler sunulup bu çözümlerin ne kadar başarılı olduklarına değinilmiştir. Son olarak Quine-Duhem probleminin Bayes formülü kullanılarak yapılan çözümü verilip bu formül değişik bilim alanlarından örneklere uygulanmıştır.
Abstract
Philosophy of science is a field of philosophy which deals with subjects such as scientific inquiry, discovery, verification, theory and concept formation. In this article first of all, the Quine-Duhem problem which is an important problem in philosophy of science today is considered. Next, some of the solutions to this problem suggested by different philosophers are presented and the successes of these solutions are discussed. Finally, the solution to the Quine-Duhem problem by using Bayes Formula is given and this formula is applied to examples from different fields of science.
