Abstract
We presented two male patients, 62 and 72 years old respectively, who had thalamic hemorrhage secondary to hypertension. The first patient had hemiataxia and hemihypoesthesia contralateral to the thalamic lesion. The second patient had contralateral ataxia, hemihypoesthesia and hemiparesis. Thalamic hemorrhages were confirmed with brain computed tomography (CT) in both patients. There was no other cause attributable to the cerebellar-like dysfunction in these patients. Thalamic lesions should be kept in mind in patient who present with ataxia and cerebellar-like dysfunction.
