Özet
I'nsan vucudunda bobrekler disinda itrah organlanndan biri de tiikruk bezleridir. Renal ve renovaskuler patolojilerde salya katyon ve Ore duzeylerinde degisiklikler bildirilmistir. Bu calismada, parsiyel unilateral ureteral obstruksiyon olusturulan kobaylarda hidronefrozun salya katyon ve kreatinin konsantrasyonuna etkisi arastinlmistir. Toplam 30 adet eriskin erkek kobaydan olusan calisma grubu, 14 gynluk obstruksiyon olusturulan Grup 1 'n= 10), 28 giinluk obstruksiyon olusturulan Grup II (n= 9) ve kontrol grubu (r|= 11) olmak uzere tig gruba aynldi.
Abstract
Effects Of Partial Hydronephrosis On Salivary Cation And Creatinine Concentrations In Guinea Pigs- Salivary glands are excretory organs such as kidneys. Changes in salivary cations and urea levels in renal and renovascular pathologies have been reported. In this study, we investigated the effect of partial unilateral ureteral obstruction on salivary cations and creatinine concentrations in-guinecCpigs. A total of 30 adult male guinea pigs were divided into three groups. Unilateral obstruction was applied for 14 days in Group I (n= 10), 28 days in Group II (n=9) and the third group served as Control (n= 11). Partial ureteral obstruction was created with the method described by Ulm and Miller. Saliva was absorbed by using sublingually placed Whatman filter paper. Serum, urine and saliva were analyzed for natrium, potassium and ceratinine. Also urinary N-acetyle-beta-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) was analyzed in bladder urine. Mean saliva potassium levels were found to be 32.2±17.4 mEq/L in group I, 73.1+19.5 mEq/L in Group II and 17.7±6.57 mEq/L in the control group. In both obstructed groups, saliva potassium levels were found statistically higher than that in the control group (p< 0.001). Mean saliva creatinine concentration was found to be 0.15±0.11 mg/dl in Group I, 0.56±0.44 mg/dl in Group II and 0.15±0.12 mg/dl in the control group. The mean saliva creatinine concentration in Group II ivas significantly higher than that in the control group and Group I (p> 0.01). Since this method is easily applicable, noninvasive and cost effective, it can be used as an adjunct to other modalities in the management of unilateral hydronephrosis.
