Abstract
Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of intravenous dexketoprofen trometamol on postoperative pain and morphine consumption undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods: 80 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy partipicated in this study. After induction of general anesthesia, patients in Group D received 50 mg dexketoprofen trometamol while patients in Group P received 0,09% NaCl intravenously. Pain intensity was assessed at the 1st, 4th, 8th, 12th, 24th hours by using VAS. Total morphine consumption and side effects were recorded for up to 24 hours in both groups. Results: Morphine consumption was higher in Group P compared with Group D. VAS were significantly lower in Group D at 8th and 12th hours postoperative compared with Group P. Rescue analgesic consumption was significantly lower in Group D. Conclusion: We concluded that the administration of dexketoprofen trometamol reduces the consumption of morphine. Therefore improving the quality of analgesia in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
