Abstract

Objective: HBV, HCV and HIV infection are important global health problems. The aim of this study was to investigate seropositivity of HBsAg, Anti-HCV and Anti-HIV in the patients who were admitted to Izmir Katip Celebi Universty Atatürk Traning and Research Hospital between January-December 2013. Materils and Methods: HBsAg, Anti-HCV ve Anti-HIV tests from the patients are analysed using chemiluminescence method in autoanalyser of Advia Centaur XP Bayer-Siemens (Germany). Results: Serologically 38.505 patients are tested for HBsAg, 37.076 patients are tested for Anti-HCV and 34.666 patients are tested for Anti-HIV. In our study 6.5%, 1.3% and 0.04% of the patients are tested are found to be seropositive for HBsAg, Anti-HCV and Anti-HIV respectively. Conclusion: The results detected for seropositivity in our region are similar to those found in other regions of Turkey. But the results were higher from our region data. In the prevention of infections In terms of public health, identifying persons who are infected, education of the society, scrupulously complied to protective measures and maintaining of HBV vaccination program is of important.
