Özet
Metformin, biguanid bileşikleri grubundan oral bir antidiyabetik ajandır. Metformin ilişkili laktik asidoz, metformin zehirlenmesi olgularında mortalitesi yüksek olan yan etkilerden birisidir. Biz intihar amaçlı aşırı doz metformin alımına bağlı, akut böbrek yetmezliği gelişen ve metilprednizolon ile tedavi edilen bir olguyu sunmayı amaçladık. Bu, literatürde hemodiyaliz uygulanmaksızın, pulse metilprednizolon ile tedavi edilen ilk olgudur.
Abstract
Metformin is an oral antidiabetic agent from the group of biguanide compounds. Metformin-related lactic acidosis is one of the adverse effects with high mortality in the cases of metforming poisoning. We aimed to present a case of attempted suicide that developed acute renal failure due to excessive dose of metformin intake, which was treated with methylprednisolone. This is the first case treated with pulse methylprednisolone in the literature without hemodialysis.
