Abstract
In this study, totally 1480 Eurygaster specimens were collected from 94 different areas of Bilecik, Bursa, Kocaeli, Sakarya and Yalova provinces from Marmara Region in 2004 and 2005. Four species were identified. While E. hottentota (F.) was determined only in Bursa province, E.integriceps Put., E. maura (L.) and E. austriaca (Schrk.) have been encountered in all provinces. E. integriceps Put. was determined in the ratios of minimum 54.1% in Kocaeli and maximum 92.7% in Yalova. E. maura (L.) and E. austriaca (Schrk.) were determined in the minimum ratios of 2.7% and 4.6% in Yalova and, in maximum ratios of 23.7% and 22.2% in Sakarya, respectively. In general, E. integriceps Put. was the dominant species with a ratio of 71.9%. E. maura (L.), E. austriaca (Schrk.) and E. hottentota (F.) followed it with 14.1%, 14.0% and 0.07%, respectively. While E. austriaca is new record for Kocaeli and Yalova provinces, E. integriceps and E. hottentota are new records for the South Marmara Region. E. integriceps is more dangerous species according to other sunn pest species because of its increased distribution, high fecundity and the severity of damage. That’s why, it must be followed carefully in the region.
