Özet
This commentary provides an overview of the structure and functioning of the institutional framework for export control regimes in a selected group of countries. It shows that, with the increasing amount of dual-use goods and technology, which find their civilian as well as military applications, there is an increasing compliance burden placed on the companies involved in international sales. The commentary also provides a brief comparison of the institutional frameworks and their practical solutions adopted to efficiently balance between the objectives of conflict prevention and trade in goods and technology subject to export restrictions.
